Not even 24 hours have passed since the launch of The Last of Us Part I on PC and the rain of criticism of the port made by Naughty Dog it is immense. At the moment there are 5,621 reviews that the file contains on Steam, which are described by the Valve store as “mostly negative”. And the performance is far from excellent.
“Ryzen 7 5800X3D, RTX 4080, 32 GB RAM, SSD M2 980 PRO Samsung. And even with all this I can’t move the game properly. It says that I’m playing it at 90-100fps but it’s not true, there is a ciborium tearing, it’s like playing at 50fps. Not to mention it took 30 minutes to compile the shaders,” explains one user. The truth is that this last point has been one of the aspects in which the community has had the most influence.
“The performance it has is disastrous, it crashes every 2 by 3, I have a 3080, an i7-13700K and 32 GB of RAM at 6000MHz, I have the graphics on High and even so it crashes all the time. Get a quick patch because with what it costs, it should have turned out much better”, points out another player disappointed with the performance. As we can see, the PC components do not seem to prevent errors when playing.
Naughty Dog promises solutions
The developer has not taken too long to announce that it is aware of all the current problems. They indicate that they are committed to solving them as quickly as possible and have presented a form in which to notify what error is being experienced.

Naughty Dog has also shared what are the main bugs that they are investigating right now and they are the following:
- Shaders take longer to load than expected
- Performance and stability drop while shaders load in the background.
- Old drivers cause instability or graphic problems.
- The game may not start despite meeting the minimum system requirements.
- A possible memory leak
It should be noted that Iron Galaxy Studios has also participated in the port of The Last of Us Part I on PC, although it is not credited as such on the Steam tab or on the Epic Games Store. They also worked with the company for the PC appearance of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection and are regulars in this type of project, having collaborated on Batman Arkham: Knight or Spyro Reignited Trilogy.
