The leaker who leaked the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom art book could end up receiving a very expensive fine.
Although Nintendo has been reluctant to share many of its details, to the point of showing a single gameplay of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the game has not been able to avoid leaks, with your art book published by a leaker who might now be in trouble. As reported by TorrentFreak, Nintendo has started legal action against this person who showed images of the artbook before its release having located it.
Initially published on Discord and later ending up on Reddit, which gave rise to the media and social networks being filled with images, the leak carried out by a single person has already been denounced in a California district court. Images from the 200-image art book that appeared in mid-February were removed by Discord following a notice from Big N Legal Services.although this did not prevent the leak, so the Japanese have proceeded to be severe after what happened.
The judicial subpoena requested by Nintendo requires information about the Discord user Julien#2743, this medium being in charge of “reveal identity, including names, addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses of the userwho is responsible for posting infringing content that appeared on the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Discord channel“.
Nintendo has already won similar cases
Although it is unknown how far this legal action taken by Nintendo will go, the Japanese have been most severe in the face of leaks from the past. Without going further, Pokémon Sword and Shield experienced exactly the same case in 2019when his strategy guide was filtered through images that ended with a lawsuit that fined two characters with the responsibility of paying $ 150,000 each.
Luckily, the release of the sequel to Zelda: Breath of the Wild is very close. In fact, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom players are already drawing their map and it would be bigger than you imagine. The title will arrive exclusively on Nintendo Switch next May 12featuring a special OLED Nintendo Switch and more custom accessories.
