Without a doubt, The Mandalorian is currently one of Lucasfilm's most effective productions since the end of the films and the Skywalker saga. The most famous outsider in the galaxy has won the hearts of fans with an extremely entertaining and exciting series, with a very effective story and a villain to match: Moff Gideon.
The paper of Giancarlo Esposito It has been tremendously good, but in addition to this, it has also been a great role for the actor himself. Through an interview with Cinema Therapy, the actor revealed that playing Gideon was the perfect opportunity to really dive back into being a physical actor. His determination was such that, during one of the action scenes, he hurt himself when he fell, but he decided to continue recording so that the sequence was as realistic as possible.
“This series was a gift, because when we get older, some of us sometimes feel like we don't have the ability to play… and for me, acting is playing. It's being a child again. Bending over, counting, swinging. I wanted to look like “An old man. Not a twenty-something. And I missed once, and I hit him so hard, that he came back, and he missed, and he put me on the ground. And he hit me so hard with that beskar spear that I went back and hit the ground. And as I was going backwards, I was like, “Don't stop recording!” And I fell to the ground, jumped up again, and we finished that particular shot of the fight to applause. Because I didn't want them to stop. Because what happens is that adrenaline takes over and you try to be careful and not hurt yourself, but you have to make it look real. And I think I did.”
Esposito's passage through The Mandalorian has left its mark on many viewers, along with Pascal. Both actors have been the visible face of the series and faithful admirers of the Star Wars franchise, something that has been reflected in their performances and which in turn reflects how well the series works among fans.
Although The Mandalorian will close its third season in style, the series will not remain only on Disney+, since several months ago we learned that both Din Djarin and his inseparable companion Grogu will land for the first time on the big screen with a film that hopes to be a of Lucasfilm's great assets in the future.
