One of the most anticipated releases this summer is Star Wars Outlaws, the new video game in the franchise that will be characterized by presenting a spectacular action adventure in a fascinating open world. The plot will take place between Episodes V and VI of the film saga, so we can get an idea of which characters will appear at some point.
For example, one of them will be Jabba the Hutt, one of the most renowned crime lords who runs his empire from his own palace on Tatooine. In fact, it will be so relevant that it will be possible to work for it at some point during this space odyssey.
With this fact in mind, when I recently traveled to Los Angeles for the Summer Game Fest I had the opportunity to interview Julian Gerightythe creative director of this promising Star Wars title, so I wanted to know what it was like for him to have the opportunity to recreate one of the best-known characters in this universe.
It was amazing. I love it. Jabba the Hutt is the best thing about Star Wars for me. He's so strange and so alien, but at the same time, so funny that he doesn't take himself too seriously. He's basically a monstrous slug. He is incredible. And he is a crown boss who has made the best of Star Wars. So working with Lucasfilm Games to recreate the voice, we brought in Dee Bradley Baker and he was amazing.
Of course, there is no doubt that Jabba is one of his favorite characters in the entire franchise, so for him it was a great gift to have the opportunity to introduce him to this game. What's more, throughout the entire interview he mentioned this Hutt gangster on more occasions, so we invite you to read it in full when we publish it on July 1.
Still, while one of the possibilities is to work for Jabba, let's not forget that it was also revealed that players will have the ability to betray him if they so choose, which will greatly affect the plot. In either case, it's something that can be decided from the start. August 30th when Star Wars Outlaws goes on sale for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, aspiring to be one of the best games in the entire saga.
