This summer is going to be very busy for all Final Fantasy XIV players. Last Friday, the Dawntrail expansion was released, the fifth to date, so all users of the MMORPG already have it at their disposal to experience new adventures. The problem is that Its launch has not been so satisfactory as expected.
From the first day they have not stopped producing serious technical and performance problems, especially in the Xbox Series version. This especially happens when a transition takes place between different areas, such as when leaving a city or traveling from one place to another, but it is not the only thing. It also happens that animations do not play correctly and characters do not display properly either.
As if that weren't enough, there are also problems in the dungeons, so, in general, there are enough reasons to admit that the arrival of this expansion has been a bit of a disaster. Given this situation, Naoki Yoshidaits producer and director, has had no choice but to come on stage to offer an apology and explain what exactly is happening:
First of all, I would like to thank everyone who has been playing Dawntrail since the start of Early Access. However, I would like to offer my sincerest apologies for the issues we have identified.
We are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the matter, which we have prioritized to ensure a quick resolution. However, fixing this issue requires deploying a patch to update the client. This process involves rigorous checks by our quality assurance team, among other procedures, which means it may take several days to address.
We are working to accelerate the release of this patch as soon as possible. However, we regret to inform that this process will take some time. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this causes and appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve the issue.
We are considering releasing an urgent fix, likely sometime this week, that would be accompanied by a short maintenance period.
I would like to extend my apologies once again for the occurrence of these issues. Rest assured, we are committed to addressing issues like these that occur after an expansion is released and will continue to quickly fix any urgent issues that may arise.
The most important part of this matter is that Square Enix is fully aware of the problems that are worsening the player experience, so Over the next few days, it is expected that everything will return to normal. For now, the company recommends playing on servers that are less populated, where these issues are not as common.
