When announcing the return Crazy Taxi we were excited about the idea of enjoying crazy racing again in a modern way. But over time, fears emerged, which have now been confirmed.
Sega considers the new Crazy Taxi (not a remake, by the way) to be a big budget (AAA) game that will have realistic graphics and an open world set in an urban setting. It has to resemble the west coast of the United States of America. The map is described as an amusement park. This is a link to a lot of attractions that we will come across during the ride.
From the job offer published by producer Kenji Kanno (he was the head of development of the original Crazy Taxi), we learned one more important detail. The developers are focusing on the multiplayer elements. The title is even described as massive multiplayer races.
It seems that the creators want to combine the classic elements of the original Crazy Taxi with those modern and crazy arcade races to attract the current generation of players.
