A few days ago we informed you about the spectacularly titled Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster. But apart from the teaser, we didn't know much about the game. Now with the announced stream Capcom Next changed.
“It wouldn't be an exaggeration to call the game a remake considering how much work we put into it,” says the director of the play Ryosuke Murai. At least at first glance, he can be trusted. The comparison with the original can already be seen in the trailer, and the graphic changes are glaring. The game is now running on RE Enginewhich is used by the Resident Evil series, in 4K and 60 fps.
We can also notice the changed character models, which according to the art director Satoshi Takamatsu received great care. This applies both to the main characters and to zombies and other NPCs. He also explores the department store that is the setting of the game. It has, for example, reworked shadows and lights. What hasn't changed is the animation of the characters to be kept the lightness of zombie butchery. “Everything with zombies needs a sense of humor. A zombie outbreak is a tragedy, but you also need to laugh,” he claims the director of the original Dead Rising, Yoshiniro Kawano.
But the changes in the gameplay are important. The players will be new enabled, for example, to walk while aiming and will be present in the game autosave. According to Murai, NPC behavior has also been improved. But the core gameplay remains the samethe changes are said to be minor.
We also learned the release date. First the game comes out Digitally on September 19 this year, then physically in November. You can pre-order the game now at two editions. The deluxe edition will offer character skins from Resident Evil and other Capcom games. Pre-ordering will then give you skins based on other Dead Rising titles.
