The story of Cyberpunk 2077 It is a story of lies, deception and overcoming. And all this has had an impact on the Polish studio, since the roadmap was very different in its plans. Information has emerged about what the Canceled DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 that would have taken us to the moon, but which was finally rejected. In fact, it seemed like the studio was going to abandon this project for its post-release content, but we're glad that Don't do it when playing Phantom Liberty.
Now, as certain information leaked by the network has shown, the canceled DLC was going to be an expansion of the game that would have been set on the moon, being a setting that has a lot to do with the universe of the CD Projekt RED license. In the information that has been given, we can even find an image that would show us the map of this alleged DLC.

It is interesting, although it may cause some disappointment, to know that CD Projekt had a great plan for one of the games that has become a benchmark. Although he achieved it late, and after many controversies and extra work, the arrival of that evolution that was baptized as Cyberpunk 2.0, gave us to understand that what was in mind was all it really managed to be. But it was too late.
The canceled DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 that would have taken us to the moon has been seen, through this information, as a possible great adventure that would have also taken us to a very different environment. That's extra work they weren't supposed to do on Phantom Liberty, and perhaps that's why they stayed on the ground. An expansion that would have taken us to the moon, where we can see some conceptual images and scenes from the development tool showing scenarios within the map that we see before.

At the time, CD Projekt RED seems to have a plan in which that map on the moon was the center of the adventure. But apparently there was plans to expand it to other environments, or other locations outside of that map that has been revealed. Little by little, the extra work involved in developing the scenarios was reduced until the conclusion was that the entire project had to be cancelled. Perhaps the magnitude of this project was too ambitious and they had still recently received the punishment they had been given for having been presumptuous with the initial proposal, just as its launch happened.
But regarding this expansion, it has been known that the plot was directed at a time when corporations were using the moon as a point of interest to deliver resources to their companies on earth. Once a colony was established, not too large, with more than 50,000 people, the players were going to be immersed in a plot that would have a lot to do with the ambitions of those corporations.
But all this was left in a draft, just as it happened with multiplayer, and now we know that there is no plan to return to it. Although Cyberpunk 2077 has managed to remove the stigma From being a broken and empty game, it has required a lot of effort to redeem itself from that disastrous launch. Now, converted into an iconic game and having one of the best expansions it could have had, such as Phantom Liberty, the future of the studio lies in other projects that generate, at least, the same expectation that we had with this game.

And CD Projekt RED is involved in several projects, the most interesting being the one that will bring back The Witcher saga. It is still early to know details about it, as well as enable a launch window that will allow us to know when we will return to Temeria, Kaedwen and the Northern Kingdoms.
