Marvel Studios is already preparing the arrival of one of the most anticipated films of the entire franchise: The Fantastic Four. The film starring the First Family aims to be one of the studio's most successful. Although the cast is clear, there were some members who showed reluctance due to possible failures.
One of them was Paul Walter Hauser, who will play an as-yet-unknown role in the film. The actor assured in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that the failure of the previous films in the hands of Fox raised doubts about his participation in the new project of the saga, now within the MCU.
“Don't think that didn't factor into whether or not I took the job. The adaptations were never spot on. But I really think the combination of the script, and the department heads that are working on the movie, and that class cast of really exciting actors – some of them known for a long time, and some of them having a moment right now – this movie is special and it was something I wanted to be a part of.”
Hauser was reluctant at first, but then he saw the actors involved and, above all, the director Matt Shakman, with whom he had collaborated on Hanging in Philadelphia. He realized that this adaptation was going to be completely different from the previous ones.
Marvel's purchase of Fox was excellent news for fans of the House of Ideas, as it meant that both the X-Men and the First Family would be part of the MCU canon. Now, several years after the agreement, we will see the first movie, Deadpool and Wolverine, which will surely give a lot to talk about.
