There is not much official information about The Witcher 4, beyond those motivating statements from the studio for its ambitious ideas. What has become a rumor is that the most charismatic character of this saga, Geralt will be present in The Witcher 4Now, it seems to be confirmed when the voice actor Doug Cockle has made certain statements that show that the popular character of the franchise will be in the game.
On the Fall Damage podcast, Cockle confirmed the presence of Geralt of Rivia in the next installment of The Witcher, since the actor who has given voice to the popular monster killer, is working on the project. In his words, he assures that “We know Geralt will be part of the game, but we don't know how much.”
Geralt will be present in The Witcher 4, something that the actor who plays him himself would have confirmed
There comes a time when he directly states that “it is something that is happening”, “I can’t say much about that. We know Geralt will be part of the game, but we don’t know how much, and the game won’t be centered around him.” And it is one of the great unknowns that there are regarding the game, because “This time it's not Geralt. We don't know who it is.”says Clucke, who also assures “I’m excited to find out!”.
There are many theories, but it seems that CD Projekt wanted to keep that promise it made to ensuring that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt closed the trilogy and the Geralt saga. But the character's return has always been in some way, knowing that the universe in which this character appears has many more opportunities to grant adventures and reveal other characters. The fact that the door was left ajar and that the voice actor has appeared to confirm that he is working on the project, would support this new information according to which it seems to be confirmed that Geralt will be present in The Witcher 4.
How they will continue the saga is something that keeps many fans of this studio and this saga in suspense. Much of this uncertainty could be resolved if information is offered about who will be the protagonist of the next installment, something that is also being closely guarded. Many point to Ciri, but this could be counterproductive considering some of the choices that could have been made in the last game. However, we know that in other areas Geralt's pupil has been used omitting this circumstance, allowing it to be an option for the game.
The question is how to go about giving continuity to the saga, especially if that continuity refers to the timeline presented in the Geralt trilogy games. Some sources seem to indicate that a more interesting option may be to offer a customizable character by the user. It could be part of a story in which both Ciri and Geraltare present as allies or contextual characters. This could even open the door to giving continuity to the saga in a free way. Given the desire to do something big, this option could be gaining a lot of strength. But, the voice actor himself, protagonist of this news, has not yet seen a script. So it seems that this is going to take a long time.
To date, there is no official information beyond that image that The lynx-shaped medallion comes out, which could indicate that the protagonist, or someone important in the game, comes from the cat school. But that's a lot to assume and it may not have as much relevance as we hope. The game went into production this year, knowing that it is part of a very broad, ambitious project scheme that will not yield immediate results.
