Putting on our aprons for today’s cooking class, we’re going to explore all the recipes and effects that are in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
we return to the cooking in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomand in a way very similar to the previous installment, we show you all the recipes, ingredients and effects that we can find. For this new occasion we have a more than expanded recipe book, with many new dishes and ingredients at our disposal.
How to cook and unlock recipes
We are not going to entertain ourselves and we are going directly to become the cooks. The first thing is that to cook we will need both materials, understanding these as edible ingredients (meat, fish, vegetables or fruit) and a place to make our recipes, that is, a fire and a saucepan. We will have a good kitchen in the lookout fort, for example.
Stand in front of the fire, in front of a saucepan or the portable Zonnan contraption itself. Now is the time to cook, for which we will have to open the inventory.
- Go to the section “Materials” and filter by type to find what you need more quickly.
- we can now “catch” the ingredients one by one and invent something ourselves, which is not very difficult. It is also possible select a material and then “cook”in order to take all the necessary materials for a certain recipe.
- With all this in hand, in front of the saucepan, press “A” to cookthe option will appear if we have done it correctly.
Note: if you have not discovered any recipe with a certain ingredient, the cooking option will not be available.
Within the menu you can go to “Recipes” section and pressing the “X button” we will be able to access the complete recipe book of the game. There’s a total of 228 recipes to discover. Cooking on our own, or thanks to certain missions or secondary adventures, even some NPCs from the posts will give us a new recipe.
Recipe Effects
Depending on the recipes and ingredients used, we will achieve different special effects. Yes indeed, never combine two ingredients that give different effectsso they cancel each other and we will have a plate without effect.
Here is the full list of effects.
- Invigorating: Increases or restores Link’s stamina and stamina.
- Vivacious: restores life and adds extra hearts.
- Invigorating or spirited: extra resistance.
- Flame retardant: protection against fire.
- Frigid: protection against heat.
- Spicy: protection against the cold
- Electrifying: protection against electricity.
- Stealthy: Increases Link’s stealth for a certain amount of time.
- Strong: Increases attack damage.
- Protector: increases defense.
- Adherent: grants adhesion so as not to slip on wet walls.
- Swift: Increases movement speed on land.
- Agile: Increases speed when swimming.
- Burning: Boosts attacks in hot places.
- Radiant: Recovers damage and heart containers caused by the evil aura.

basic dishes
We will be able to make several basic recipes combining ingredients of the same type, to recover life and little else. Meat, fish, fruit or vegetables in abundance. No special effects, but just as useful.

The following dishes are used to recover stamina or stamina, even gain an extra amount of it.
- Invigorating Ingredients: vigorous mushroom, vigorous honey, vigorous plant, vigorous sea bass, vigorous cricket, or vigorous crab.
