This same morning we reported that Avowed’s graphic section will improve considerably by the time it hits the market. The reason is that the game currently hasn’t even entered base Alpha, and that apparently there was a problem with the rendering of the trailer. At least that’s what Briar Diem, a member of the Obsidian development team, stated.
However, these words from Diem have not been the most important of those that he has commented through rpgcodex, where he has also talked about other aspects that concerned the community, such as game size. According to the developer’s words, Avowed will be bigger than some of the projects previously seen in the studio. Specifically, he assured that the words of Feargus Urquhart, CEO of Obsidian Entertainment, were wrong when comparing it to The Outer World or Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic II.
Avowed will be bigger than The Outer Worlds or KOTOR 2
Diem assured that this was an unfair comparison, since Avowed will be bigger than those two games, because it will have a really “big and open” world. And although the developer acknowledges that the official comments made by Obsidian Entertainment were trying to moderate user expectations, the truth is that Avowed will be much larger than the aforementioned titles.
The developer also assured that although the title has involved a large amount of work (due to the partial restart that took place a year ago), the truth is that Avowed will be everything that fans of RPG games are looking for, and more specifically, whatever all those who are fans of Obsidian’s works are looking for. Specifically, it referred to everything related to NPCs, missions, playable mechanics, and a great story behind it all.

Therefore, and even in the absence of official information provided by the Obsidian Entertainment communication channels, we have already been able to clear up doubts about some aspects that could concern the community. The fact that Avowed will be bigger than The Outer Worlds will be celebrated by fans of the studio, as some considered the studio’s space RPG stretch to be a bit thin.
It will be necessary to see if the study is able to meet its forecasts, since they expect the launch of Avowed to take place at the end of next year 2024, being available on Xbox Series X | S and PC, in addition to being able to play it through Xbox Games Pass from the day of its launch.
