Have you always wanted to play Dungeons and Dragons but don't have enough nerdy friends? Baladins, by Seed by Seed, could be the right title to quench that thirst (or at least introduce you to the base of this world).
Baladins It is available for PC, PS4 and PS5, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
One of my big frustrations (?) is not having people to play Dungeons and Dragons with (or role-playing games of that style failing that). In my 28 years of life I was only able to do it once. When I found out that a video game was coming out with all those features (and without the need to have friends interested in getting together to play) I immediately wanted to be able to try it.

I understand that it may not be the ideal title for those who enjoy role-playing games. year alive with friends and/or acquaintances, but for those of us who are not that lucky, Baladins It is a more than acceptable approach.
The title of Seed by Seed allows us to select between a pyro, a bard, a cook, a luxomancer or a dancer (each of them with pre-established stats that can be improved throughout the experience) and delve into the action of a world full of missions and decisions to make.

It should also be noted that Baladins allows you to play with up to four people, both online and on screen cooperatively. Personally, as is usually the case in games that allow cooperative mode, I always advise enjoying it in the company of someone because I think the experience really improves. Furthermore, if they are in the same area, the stats are shared, which increases your chances of winning an eventual fight.
The month (and a half) of the groundhog
Balins places us in a world on the verge of collapse due to an evil dragon. Our mission? Be the heroes and manage to prevent final destruction. But… clearly not everything will be rosy.
Starting from the base, the title immerses us in a sort of month and a half of the groundhog (?). Basically, we will have six weeks to resolve the events that come our way. If we don't achieve this, everything will restart and we will start from scratch (although not so from scratch, since we can actually select another starting point and also keep some element of the previous adventure).

Personally, I felt that the story lacked power. Despite having dozens of scenarios and possibilities to take (remember that the experience advances according to our choices and actions), it seemed too linear to me for what a role-playing game should really be.
Get some friends…
Delving deeper into the gameplay, Baladins It gives us 4 movements and 3 actions per turn. Although, if we play with someone, we can move directly to where that person is (no matter how far away they are) for just one movement. The fun of the title is moving around the map and interacting with the different areas and the wide variety of characters (interacting with them already represents an action point).

The character we use will have stats determined according to their class. In this regard, as I mentioned previously, playing with more people becomes key to being able to “absorb” their knowledge (as long as they are located in exactly the same place). Many times we will find ourselves involved in some crossroads that required, for example, 14 points of destruction. To do this, the dice will be rolled and the points that we have in that area will be added (and the points of our friend(s) if they are located next to us).
In addition, we can improve our skills in exchange for an action. The places we are in have the possibility of improving some skill in question (in fact, there are always two options available). The objects that we find throughout the adventure (or that we decide to buy) can also improve some skill(s) if consumed.

Being based on Groundhog Day, the gameplay of Baladins It basically boils down to that: go to a point, interact with whoever is there, accept their mission, move to the point where we can solve their mission, meet at that new point with another character who gives us another mission, move to solve that mission and so on.
A friendly world for the little ones
One of the points where Baladins What caught my attention the most was in its graphic section. The world itself, or, rather, what we could consider a kind of board, has a completely colorful 3D molding; full of life. But, the characters we use and interact with have an aesthetic similar to what a drawing on a piece of paper could be. I really liked this detail, this artistic difference because it really made me think of the figures that used to come in board games (now they are much more modern and have already succumbed to the magic of 3D).

The art style also makes it friendly to play with little ones.
Are you responsible for a creature and want to bring it closer to the world of D&D but the games with your friends are very violent? Well, Baladins makes it, visually, a completely friendly approach.
The music, meanwhile, fulfills its function, although it does not stand out. Although each area and each place we enter has its own melody, the reality is that they are more of generic songs that simply accompany the background.

- The graphic section is really attractive and original; It feels like your own, not a copy.
- It's a good approach for D&G style games.
- The story lacks power, it feels too linear.
