Batman fans are in luck for the bombshell that is coming in a few weeks. Amazon Prime Video has announced all the details of Batman: Caped Crusaderthe new animated series in which JJ Abrams, Matt Reeves (director of The Batman) and Bruce Timm (creator of the original animated series) are involved.
Without a doubt, it is noticeable that the last of them is involved in this new project. You just need to take a look at your first official trailer to verify that it seems more like a continuation of the series published in the 90s, because the similarity between the two is immense, which is why this new production looks so promising and has raised expectations through the roof.
The plot will narrate the origins of the Dark Knight and how he will have to deal with gangsters, thieves and, as expected, some of the most important and familiar villains from this universe, among which are Harley Quinn, Two-Face, The Penguin and many more. And they will not be the only ones, because the police will not look favorably on Batman's actions and will also go after him in order to reveal his identity and his true intentions.
We also know that Hamish Linklater will be voicing the Dark Knight, while Christina Ricci will be Catwoman, Jamie Chung will be Harley Quinn and Diedrich Bader will be Two-Face / Harvey Dent, but the list is even longer given the number of iconic characters that will make an appearance throughout this first season.
Batman: Caped Crusader will have a total of ten episodes that can be seen from August 1 on Prime Video. Furthermore, its continuation with its corresponding batch of chapters will not take long to arrive, given that a future second season has been given the green light.
