Although Bixby has always fallen short of other voice assistants when it comes to quality and utility, Samsung announced a new feature that can be really useful. Read more here!
It is a reality that, since its launch in 2017, Bixby had a rather poor impact compared to other virtual voice assistants like Alexa or Google Assistant. However, the company is not giving up yet and announced new features to give it a new lease of life.
The new update, which will be released later this month, promises to add a new feature called “Bixby Text Call” in English-speaking markets. This is a feature that so far had only been taught in South Korea.
Specifically, this new feature gives users the ability to answer calls by having Bixby speak for them based on the text input people enter, also converting the other user’s words into text. In this way, two people could communicate perfectly using different channels; one by voice, and one by text. Undoubtedly a very useful feature for those moments in which we do not want to talk.
On the other hand, the next big change in this technology of samsung will come from the hand of “Custom Bixby Voice Creator”, an Artificial Intelligence that allows us to clone our voice through some inputs that we enter. Undoubtedly, a technology that sounds like science fiction, but at the moment it is only available in Korean.
Now, finally, in terms of changes that seem closer, Samsung is working on technology so that its virtual assistant can play music depending on the situation in which we find ourselves. In this way, if we are in the gym or in a training session, the assistant will be able to play music that is appropriate for those moments. And you, do you use Bixby?
