While the legal details that have prevented the purchase of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft is already a reality, both companies are still at full capacity and working on upcoming projects. In this sense, at the beginning of this year the North American company made it known that it was working on a new survival license, but without giving a name, date or details. Now we have known that Blizzard has doubled the number of developers for its unannounced survival game throughout the year 2022. This has been made known by Mike Ybarra, president of Blizzard Entertainment, in a publication to take stock of the year.

This is what Ybarra had to say about the internal changes that have taken place at Blizzard lately: “Dan Hay, General Manager of Survival Game: leads the team that is preparing this genre with the magic of Blizzard while we create our first new IP since Overwatch. The team will doubled its size this year and we expect to continue growing even more during the next year”. The first thing that stands out is that Blizzard continues to refer to this project as a Survival Game, writing its initials in capital letters and without a code name that facilitates the dissemination of information about it.

New details emerge about Blizzard’s new survival game
Shortly after the announcement of the purchase of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft, the creator company…
Not surprisingly, it seems that the project is still in its early stages of development, while the company is also working on Diablo IV, Overwatch 2 and it comes from having launched a World of Warcraft new expansion. What is clear is that the North American company is taking a development that does not seem minor at all very seriously and that will mean the arrival of a new license from one of the most successful video game companies in the sector. It seems difficult to think that this survival game will arrive in 2023, but we will be attentive to it.
