Fans of the zombie series Dead Rising were pleasantly surprised on Wednesday. Capcom announced through the barely minute long trailer that he was preparing remaster the first part. Spectacularly named Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster (with an abbreviation Dr. DR), sets himself the task of bringing the first adventure Frank West on the current generation of consoles. And in an improved version with a completely new face, as the trailer shows.
We don't know much more yet. No release date, nor what specific consoles the game will be released on (but you can probably count on the classic trio of PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S). But the fact remains that according to a few seconds of footage from the animations, the visual shift is really noticeable. The question is how the game will look in motion. Fans have also noticed a change in the dubbing of the main character, he is no longer an actor Terence J. Rotolo.
The original Dead Rising was released in 2006 as an Xbox 360 exclusive. It tells the story of journalist Frank West, who is trapped in a department store with a horde of undead for several gaming days. The game became famous especially for its humor combined with absurd, improvised weapons, which in later installments the players could create themselves.
The game received an HD version already in 2016, along with two other parts. It was no longer an exclusivity, it was a release also for computers and PlayStation consoles. The last part was also published the same year Dead Rising 4. The future of the brand is unknown apart from the aforementioned Deluxe Remaster. Let's remember that the studio that has been dedicated to the series since the second part – Capcom Vancouver – was closed in 2018, although the studio reportedly was working on the fifth volume.
