Perhaps you are a proud fan of the Halo universe, having played all the titles in the series, read all the novels and books of lore, and seen all his series. But you probably missed something. And it is that in 2010 the very ed friesone of the fathers of Xbox, created a game homebrew based on Halo for the Atari 2600 console and called, of course, Halo 2600.
In Halo 2600, players control Master Chief, in a exploration game with 64 rooms to go through and a variety of enemies of the Covenant to eliminate. The hero, brand of the house Xbox, must find hidden keys to unlock the force fields of the game until reaching the meeting of the final threat. In the following demonstration you can see it in motion.
Halo 2600 exists in physical format and you can still buy it
In 2010 and with the prior permission of Microsoft, AtariAge worked with Ed Fries to produce a version of Halo 2600 in the form of physical cartridge. This led to a limited run being offered for the 2010 Classic Gaming Expo. After that event, additional cartridges were produced with an alternate label to differentiate the two releases.
Halo 2600 is available for both NTSC and PAL television formats, and includes the cartridge with a high-quality die-cut sleeve and a glossy eight-page professionally printed full-color manual. You can still buy it for $30 or, for $20 more, you can choose to ship inside a printed box and with a suitable inner cardboard to insert the cartridge inside.
