Company of Heroes 3 is a real-time strategy game developed by Relic Entertainment and published by Sega. It is the third installment in the Company of Heroes series, following Company of Heroes (2006) and Company of Heroes 2 (2013).
The game is set in World War II and features both single player and multiplayer game modes. Players will be able to take control of American, British and German forces, and will have to carry out missions and objectives while fighting for control of the battlefield.
Besides, Company of Heroes 3 It has a new graphic engine that will allow better graphics, despite the redundancy, and visual effects, as well as a greater number of units on the screen. At least that’s the visual premise.
And it is that this game at first glance seems like another RTS within the genre, but nevertheless it presents a mixed gameplay between this much-loved genre that I really like, and the simulation style type Civilizationeither TEGwhere we must think of strategies to seize the enemy territory.
NEW ENGINE! I WOULD SAY IN 2008.
as it happened with him AGE OF EMPIRE 4 I can say that it also happens with this game. I don’t see a brutal or significant graphic change. The terrain of moments has quite poor textures and the lighting does not finish generating marked shadings than volume. It all seems very flat.
The animations and simulations are quite truncated. And I have no idea what the AI is doing, since at times they seem like kamikazes that run into the enemy trench, leaving aside the cover that was assigned to it.
The interface, although it looks familiar, is very difficult to get used to, since the squads are sometimes not easily distinguishable and you have to pause the action to think 2 or 3 times about the movement.
The game has some little-worked introductions with somewhat forgettable 2D plans that are only filler to tell the next mission.
MOVIE SOUND.
The soundtrack is very well worked and gives it the character that the visual section lacks. The music for the previous games was composed by Cris Velasco, who has worked on many other popular video games, such as God of War, Mass Effect 3and The Witcher 3.
The voices are in English and they will constantly be giving us advice or strategic options. Compared with COH2 the visual treatment of the interpretations are unfortunately light years away.
THE ART OF WAR.
In general terms, Company of Heroes 3 it follows the formula of its predecessors by being a squad-based real-time strategy game. Players must build a base, collect resources, create units, and fight their opponents on the battlefield.
One of the game’s key features is its emphasis on tactics and strategy. Players must take advantage of cover, terrain, and line of sight to gain an advantage over their opponents. In addition, special abilities such as artillery calls or aerial bombardment can be used to turn the tide of battle.
The game also features a wide variety of units, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Players can build and customize their armies to suit their play style and the missions they find themselves on.
One of the new features of Company of Heroes 3 is its dynamic campaign system. Players will make decisions that will impact the outcome of the campaign and future missions. The campaign also features multiple endings, meaning you can experience different outcomes depending on the decisions you make.
Honestly, sometimes I think that when we are on the battlefield we are facing a AGE OF EMPIRE 4. I don’t know if the gameplay or the graphic section doesn’t finish convincing me. Perhaps being used to a previous game makes my senses not get used to these subtle changes, but they don’t quite convince me.
The mix of situations with the tactical map gives me another point of view of the war, but I prefer to go to the battlefield. It feels like the title is a while away from development. And something that gives me goosebumps that I don’t have on end is the non-existent save or autosave.
Saving between zones is useless because when you put continue you start the mission from the beginning. More than once it made me want to continue playing. It is seen that the autosave points are not to our liking.
THE BEST
- Music.
- Multiplayer fun.
- It does not require a super PC to play it.
- Replayability in the campaigns.
WORST
- Graphics a bit outdated and textures poorly worked on the terrain.
- The AI does what it wants.
- Unclear game interface.
