DC Studios has begun to move forward with the announcement of its next films. After confirming in January of last year that Superman would be the film that would begin the new DC Extended Universe, a few hours ago we learned which film will be the next to hit theaters.
Through a press release, we have learned that Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow will hit screens around the world on June 26, 2026, just under a year after the premiere of Superman. Everything points to a slower start to the DC Universe.
As announced several months ago, the film will star Milly Alcock, known for playing Rhaenyra Targaryen, in the role of Kara Zor-El. It will be directed by Craig Gillespie, with Ana Nogueira working on the film's script.
Although we will have to wait more than two years to see the second film in the DC Extended Universe, James Gunn wants to ensure that the work they are doing for DC Studios is of quality, which is why he has preferred to take the projects patiently. Meanwhile, the filmmaker is already preparing several series that will be launched during these months to liven up the wait.
