The Dragon Ball Super manga continues to draw closer to the events of the Dragon Ball Super: Super HEro movie.
Krillin is one of the most beloved characters in the entire Dragon Ball universe, which is why it is surprising that, unlike other protagonists, Goku’s first friend and companion Haven’t received a power up yet significant that puts him on a par with the great fighters of the franchise. Especially, we are talking about the movie Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, where Piccolo receives a power increase, but not Krillin. There are those who even believe that Krillin would not be the strongest human.
Over the years, Krillin has remained one of the most popular Dragon Ball characters, despite the fact that hasn’t always had a leading role in the different arcs of the series. Let’s remember the retired version of Krillin with mustache and white hair that we saw in Dragon Ball GT. Without a doubt, Krillin has been the clear example of the transition from youth to adulthood of the Z Fightersalthough it seems that he still has a lot to offer in future events of the series.
Why Piccolo and not Krillin?
Now that the Dragon Ball Super manga number 90 is already on the street, it has been possible to offer an answer to why Krillin has so little prominence in the Dragon Ball Super movie: Super Hero, which takes place later in this same timeline that the manga follows. The main reason that the beginning of the film focuses so much on Piccolo and his investigation, to the point of summon the dragon Shenron to become strongeris that Krillin was already aware of the existence of Dr. Hedo, so his participation in these first bars of the film would have been out of place now that we have a complete perspective of the story.
In this latest issue of the manga, the investigation into grave robbing take Krillin to find Dr. Hedo and to know his relationship with Dr. Gero, as well as that the Red Ribbon Army prepares an attack for reasons still unknown to him. In the movie, it is true that Piccolo could have counted on one of his companions, such as Krillin, to investigate him, but it seems that the writers thought to focus all the attention on Piccolo.
At the moment it is not very clear what will happen after the events of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, but there is no reason to rule out that characters like Krillin have their own increase in power in the future. The day when all branches of Dragon Ball Super conclude could be very close.
