A feeling that many will surely recognize – you are newly divorced, the executor is about to knock on your door at any moment, you try to resist the beautiful taste of fresh bread… and so you take any job that comes your way. These are exactly the problems that plague the main character of the logical detective adventure Duck Detective: The Secret Salami. In the role of a witch detective, we go to the headquarters of the bus company for our last money to solve a serious case of stolen lunch. Here we meet his animal employees and get to know their intertwined relationships. Does it all sound too bizarre? So let's take a look together at what the game can offer us in addition to humor and charm.
The case at first glance may seem trivial. Lunch has disappeared, there are fingerprints in the kitchen, the perpetrator has signed himself as the Salami Bandit, and there is a bag full of salami at the desk of one of the employees. However, not everything is as simple as it seems and the Bear Bus company hides many secrets beneath the surface. The story and its characters drew me in from the beginning. That's why I was pleased that he was the first further developed and complicated the case. That way I could get to know the personalities of the suspects and the detective himself.
The gameplay of this isometric game is simple overall – we move around the office, where we find highlighted tracks. Noticing them is not difficult at all. At the beginning of the game, I was so afraid that their obviousness would take away the joy of discovery. But later I was pleased that I will need a lot more to solve cases. I had to carefully watch not only the dialogues, but also the physical changes and hints in the environment. Other times I couldn't get to the clue right away. I had to get more information or wait for the characters to be moved to another room. You also wouldn't want someone looking at your desktop while you're still working on your computer.
