What defines the success of any football game is its experience behind the controls, but it is undeniable that the visual section adds enormous additional points. In EA Sports FC 25 there will not only be a new leap in quality, offering new technology for the players and the atmosphere of each stadium, but it will also give us the ultimate tool to make any game played worthy of the game cover: the EA Sports Highlighter.
At VidaExtra we know very well what is being added and what was there before this system. Firstly because we have already played the next installment, but above all because each and every one of the screenshots in our previous analyses were created by us by playing with the cameras and finding the best moments.
With that in mind, we are looking forward to showing you and getting the most out of what can be done with the new tool, although you can already see a small preview officially.
This is what the EA Sports Highlighter from FC 25
First things first: the Highlighter It is a function that It will only be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PCso we understand that the previous generation systems and Switch will have the same system as last year. This is due to the use of the game engine, but also to the technology used. What's more, I can already tell you that among the new options on these platforms, the possibility of activating ray tracing without sacrificing 60 FPS during matches will be offered.
With that established, accessing the Highlighter is as simple as starting a replay, enabling a new type of menu that is more comfortable, simple and intuitive both when choosing what is shown and the footballers, including already known views and other types of camera such as Hypermotion, 360-degree turns or drone view.
In fact, the process is made simple thanks to a system adapted to the controls and not only will you not lose what you already had, but elements such as slow motion will be more accessible, offering in the process a whole variety of new tools simply by pressing a trigger or completely clearing the screen by pressing the right stick. However, The most interesting thing happens when you press the left one.
Much more than replays and screenshots
EA Sports introduces a photo mode by simply pressing the left stick, in which we not only have total control of the situation and can easily find the best moment, but it is also possible to add effects, filters, play with different perspectives and, if we wish, take the camera and put it wherever we want.
Not like in previous installments, where there were certain restrictions, but with total freedom being able to adjust both lens type and zoom.
So far we've talked about a photo mode that you could perhaps match by taking the capture to an editor on PC and putting in some time. But the best thing is that these new features of the Highlighter also apply when recording video clips, so you can play with the camera, timing, perspectives and turn a moment that in other circumstances would be worth framing into a video worth showing off on our social networks.
As a result of adding all of the above, Highlighters will become a spectacular tool for those passionate about photography and football video games. And not only that, this function is expected to be introduced in EA Sports FC 25 and gradually extend it to the rest of the releases of the Electronic Arts sports sagas. Ultimately, the final plan is that for each player who boasts of great moments, EA Sports itself will be able to take advantage of what it has achieved in its new game.
Highlighter: the sum of many technologies and innovations combined
However, it is worth reminding ourselves that in addition to the new features in the overall visual quality, this release offers a leap in quality with regard to the Hypermotion and Cranium engines:
- EA Sports has recorded animations of players in real matches broadcast on television, has applied them to complete models (not just from the torso up) so the movements are more authentic.
- Additionally, a system has been introduced where, using facial recognition artificial intelligence, those thousands of players who have not had their appearances scanned will be drastically more similar to their flesh-and-blood counterparts.
- Not to mention an improvement in physics where the players' hair or fabric will react much better than last season.
When will you be able to start taking photos and clips with the new Highlights? The launch of EA Sports FC 25 be next September 27th on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Once again, the game will feature a dual-version system, including both PlayStation console copies or both Xbox copies; and those who are subscribers to EA Play (included with Game Pass) or pre-order the Ultimate Edition will have early access for up to a week. Seven days of pure gold for players of modes like Ultimate Team.
