Finishing the main story of Hogwarts Legacy is not necessarily the end of the magical experience. The castle that houses the school and the surrounding grounds hold many secrets and things to do. In addition, finishing the story does not imply finishing the school year.
If you’re worried about finishing the game and not being able to play anymore, I’ll reassure you: you can continue playing as much as you want once you finish the main story. In order to avoid spoilers and spoilers, I won’t tell you if the story continues, if it reloads to a point before the end or anything like that. Keep in mind that you can continue playing with your character.
WARNING: the rest of the post contains guttings of Hogwarts Legacy.
Eight things to do after finishing the main story of Hogwarts Legacy
When you finish the main story, the game shows you a banner congratulating you on completing it, reminding you that the school year continues and you still have OWLs to beat. Before you ask: you don’t have to take the exams yourself. There are no special tests or anything like that. With that said, what can you do from then on?
- Get the Secret Ending: Regardless of the ending you have chosen, you can access the secret, expanded or final ending. The issue is that it requires completing the 100% of the Field Guide, which is no small thing. When you complete it, the credits appear and you can continue spinning… although without any specific objective.
- Complete the Field Guide and Challenges: The obvious first step for anyone playing after seeing the congratulations message is to get 100% of the game, including all Achievements or Trophies. This is the path to the secret ending. You can do it through guides or on your own. Remember that the game map shows you everything you need in each area, both inside the castle and outside.
- Side missions and challenges: Hogwarts Legacy has a lot of side quests (some better than the main ones) and challenges like the broom time trials. If you play on PS5, remember that you have an exclusive mission called “Own Business” in Hogsmeade.
- Exploration without more and secrets: Hogwarts Legacy knows how to reward selfless exploration very well, especially for Harry Potter fans. The castle loaded to the brim with references and curiosities. If you are a curious person, I recommend that you explore every corner of the world. You will find both references to the franchise and other video games. Do not forget to talk to the teachers and students, as they have additional dialogues.
- Broomstick flight and tricky routes: some players have found their vocation within Hogwarts Legacy in flying with a broom and share their maneuvers on social networks and Reddit. Some cross the Forbidden Forest at full speed without tripping over the trees, zigzag through the communes of the Hogsmeade Station bridge and the crowd towers on the Quidditch pitch, fly low to the ground or through narrow spaces…
- room of requirement: If exploring isn’t your thing and you’re not interested in collectibles, you might be interested in a bit of Animal Crossing: Hogwarts Edition. The Room of Requirement is an unfathomable well of hours: construction, decoration, crops, care and games with animals… Many users have gone into their rooms after completing the game and have not come out again.
- Fights and more fights: Now that you are an expert magician, you can spend all your time fighting. If you want a challenge, increase the difficulty to Hard, remove any possible aids you have and head to the Battle Arenas. There are a total of three areas on the map, although one of them is exclusive to the Dark Arts DLC.
- New Character: If you’ve been left with more desire for Hogwarts Legacy, then you can make another character (4 maximum) that belongs to a different house and with different abilities. For example, I have decided to keep my Slytherin character (first game) and make myself a Hufflepuff girl focused on potions and pure magic, another Ravenclaw girl focused solely on pure magic, and a Gryffindor boy who is a dark wizard with dark magic. In addition, each house has custom missions.
This is all you can do in Hogwarts Legacy once you complete the campaign. It’s a shame that Avalanche Software doesn’t plan to include content expansions, because it would come in very handy to continue playing with our character.
