Warning: Spoilers for chapter 259 of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga
Jujutsu Kaisen has returned this week and, even though the fight between Sukuna and Itadori continues, Gege Akutami has once again decided to completely break our hearts. Chapter 259 of the manga begins right where the previous one ended, with the King of Curses about to launch a devastating technique.
As mentioned in the first few pages, this attack is immensely powerful, although not as accurate as the fire arrow he launched at Jogo. However, unlike that technique, this “kitchen” attack would collect all the dust in its area of effect to explode everything inside.
Everything seemed lost, but someone stood between the sorcerer and his goal: Choso. Sacrificing himself as a human barrier, Itadori's brother saved one of his inseparable companions, leaving Yuji disconsolate. In a series of panels, we see Choso thank his younger brother and apologize for not having trained enough with him, although she claims that the months they spent together were the best of his life.
Thus, Gege Akutami says goodbye to one of the most beloved characters in the entire work. Yuji seemed on the verge of losing his sanity like in Shibuya, but we quickly see someone appear out of nowhere: Aoi Everything. After the loss of a blood brother, another word brother arrives, who, using a strategy that not even Itadori himself knew about due to his relationship with Sukuna, arrives at the place to ensure the safety of the other characters.
With this, Akutami aims to present another battle of epic proportions with Todo and Itadori as protagonists facing the King of Curses, who, according to the editor, has lost so much energy that he can no longer use any type of cursed abilities. Once again, the brothers are against the world.
