Everwild was announced in 2019 without much more news since then
Rare is a studio that for more than two decades belongs to Microsoft after this company bought the studio at the beginning of the century, thus putting an end to one of the most fruitful economic and commercial relationships that they had with Nintendo. However, something that many have missed is that Rare launch quality video games with the same assiduity of yesteryear.
In that sense, although it cannot be said that the studio has not done anything good in all this time, since it is enough to look at games like Viva Piñata and Sea of Thievesthe latter being such a success that it has become the best-selling digital game on PS5 after its launch on this console, it is also true that within Rare there are certain deficiencies at the development level, one of the most famous cases being that of Everwild, a video game announced in 2019 and about which we barely know anything currently.
Everwild continues with its development
Under this premise, although a job offer gave clues about the state of Everwild a few months ago, in June 2024 we still do not know for sure. how is the development itself going and if one day the title will see the light. However, at least today, it seems that the title is still in development.
This has been confirmed by journalist Jez Corden in the latest Xbox Two podcast program, in which they talked about predictions about the next Xbox Games Showcase which will be broadcast this week. Under this premise, Corden has indicated that doesn't think Everwild will show at the eventsince, in his own words, the title is not yet sufficiently advanced, although he has stated that is not canceled as such:
Regarding the type of game that Everwild will be, it should be noted that Corden affirms that he understands it as a kind of cooperative multiplayer experience, although it has also been said that it will resemble Viva Piñata. Time will tell if Microsoft ends up showing it at a future event, although given the situation with its studios after the closures of Tango Gameworks and Arkante Austin, it seems evident that many are not going to want to risk it.
