CD Projekt RED confirmed some time ago that it is already actively working on the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077even though it is in its early stages of production. What is clear is that the Polish studio intends for this new installment of the franchise to be superior to the original game, and it seems that they are trying to do everything in their power to achieve this.
The Poles recently opened a new studio in the United States, called CD Projekt RED Boston Studios, with which they intend to add a greater layer of realism to the setting and American society. This was confirmed by the studio's executive producer, Dan Herberg, who via AnsweRED Podcast (via Wccftech) talked about what is now known as Project Orion.
The sequel to Cybperunk 2077 wants to better respect the everyday elements of the United States
«I think Cyberpunk is obviously an exclusively American story. “It has a lot of punk energy, and it was written by an American, so it seems right to do it in the United States,” said the producer. And following in the wake of these words, a developer took the opportunity to explain that one of the points where CD Projekt RED “failed” was in something as minor as manhole covers. Despite being set in the US, this element was more similar to those that could be found in Europe, which led the studio to make the decision to open the new Boston branch.
Our curbs are different, our color is different on all of our signs. Everything is slightly different. It doesn't break the immersion, but it's just that little thing where you say, 'well, maybe this wasn't done by people who live here or people who fully understand the whole American culture.'
CD Projekt RED's intention with the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 is none other than to create a greater sense of immersion, something that they think Boston Studios will help them with enormously. No official information about the game has yet emerged, but there have been rumors for some time now about its possible location.
