Joker is Batman’s most iconic villain, but even he has admiration for another legendary Marvel hero.
People who are familiar with the world of superheroes will know that joker is one of the most iconic villains of the DC Universe. This famous lunatic has been one of DC’s hallmarks and is well known by all to have a deep obsession with Batman. During all these years, the Joker and Batman have starred in one of the most famous feuds of all time, but even this is not enough for the Clown Prince of Crime. In the past, the joker has shown his devotion to a character from Marvel and this is incredibly shocking since he actually prefers another hero from the marvel universe before to Batman.
Joker is Batman’s most iconic villain, but even he has admiration for another legendary Marvel hero.
The relationship between Joker and Batman It began a few decades ago with the Batman #1 comic, when the Joker was still a murderous criminal in his infancy as a villain. At this time, his relationship with Batman was casual as he was less concerned with his rivalry with Batman. Dark Knight to focus on pulling off big heists. As the years passed, the Joker went through some personality changes that led him to focus exclusively on Batman.
From this moment on, the joker he would become a much more deranged and unhinged character without any kind of control over himself. The days of worrying about crimes were long gone, as he was completely immersed in his own madness and wanted to destroy Batman above all things until a recent revelation has changed the way we see things.
In the first issue of the comic series DC Versus Marvel, by Ron Marz, Peter David, Dan Jurgens and Claudio Castellini, the DC Universe and the Marvel Universe came together to produce never-before-seen superhero stories from both publishers. The reason this happened is because two cosmic beings, who rule the multiverses of DC and Marvel respectively, they became aware of each other’s existence. Both decided to confront the two universes in which the best heroes and villains of each multiverse would fight to decide the superiority and the permanent existence of winning reality.
However, before all of that actually happened, the heroes and villains that were sent to alternate worlds were simply left confused by what was happening around them, including the iconic spider-manwho has a chance encounter with him joker when he arrives in the city of Gotham. After the Joker spoke with spider-man for a moment, he decides to say goodbye without trying to cause any trouble, and in doing so Joker confesses that he likes insects more than bats. While it is true that one could argue that the joker I just didn’t want to fight spider-man at the time and thought it would be smart to say it, it’s still shocking that Joker even got the idea that another hero had a more special place in his heart than batman.
At this point in the DC continuity, the joker is in one of its most obsessed stages with Batman, which is so overwhelming for him that he would literally kill himself if Batman were to disappear from his life. However, this curious revelation suggests that if spider-man was his greatest enemy instead of Batmanthat would not be a big problem for him, since have Spider-Man as an enemy seems at least as attractive or more attractive than Batman.
Not only is the idea that the Joker feels admiration for another hero it’s not Batman, since it is something that he has never hinted about any other hero, even within the DC Universe, but also that this hero comes from a completely different reality. The Joker and Batman coexist in the DC Universe, while spider-man is a character exclusively Marvelbut this is something that was not a problem for joker. Though I may never see it, Joker surely wanted to be trapped in Spider-Man’s cobwebs.
