We love Joseph Fares, thats the reality. The creator of Brothers – A Tale of Two Sons was crowned in 2021 with the well-deserved GOTY for It Takes Two and made us laugh legendary with his intervention at The Game Awards 2017 referring to the Oscars. Plus, he’s always betting with the community that his next game is going to be a crazy one that won’t disappoint.
So far it has not failed and in the immaculate career of Fares we come across A Way Out, one of his most interesting adventures. As with all other Hazelight works, you only need a copy of the game to play with another friend. If you have Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, it’s waiting for you in the Microsoft catalog for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
And it is that yes, it is necessary that you play with your friend, family member or whoever you want, because escaping from jail alone is not easy. The play puts us in the shoes of Leo and Vicent, two convicts who must reluctantly join forces in order to escape their imprisonment. An escape in which mutual collaboration is essential, because while one is watching that no guard approaches, another must be quick to sneak in to get an essential object.
a game of A Way Out You live in a split screen, being able to see at all times what your partner is doing to be clear about the steps to follow. There are even pure coordination sequences, such as climbing a wall with Vincent and Leo leaning on each other to get to the top. The variety of situations is another of the strengths of the game.
Sequences with platforms, stealth to be able to sneak in or pure action in which you will have to run and shoot without mercy. There is also space for fun mini-games, such as being able to spend some time fishing, playing four in a row or making our best hit with a baseball bat. Yes, prepare for an ending that will not leave you indifferent and, if you’re not satisfied, you can always replay the game from the perspective of the character you didn’t choose.
