News that can be quite disappointing.
The fashion for so-called “games as a service” has left us with great successes, yes, but it has also offered us, in recent years, several video games that did not reach the level expected. We could give many examples, but probably the biggest failure, and at the same time the one that had the most hope, was Marvel’s Avengers, a video game that you can learn a little more about in our impressions. Even so, and due to the fact that the current developments are very long, or simply because the executives of the publishers do not learn, from time to time we receive news of a game that will make the same mistakes.
Some time ago we learned that in Redfall we would need a connection to play, something that was criticized a lot, on social networks, given the problems that other video games that implemented this had caused, as is the case of Gran Turismo 7. Now, we have been able to know that with Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League we will have the same problem.
Permanent connection even in single player mode
Yesterday we could see, during the State of Play, a fairly extensive gameplay of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leaguethe new video game from the creators of the Batman Arkham franchise, which is why there was a lot of expectation, this despite the fact that the menu was leaked some time ago, and therefore its status as a game as a service.
In this gameplay it could be clear that, although it does not seem like it is like other similar titles, it will have a great long-term focus, but it has been now that we have heard some rather discouraging news. Specifically, we mean that on the game’s official website, in the questions and answers section, it is specified that it will be mandatory to be connected to the internetregardless of whether you are playing alone or accompanied.
Of course, this is a setback, firstly because you never know if the servers might go down, as happened to the aforementioned Gran Turismo 7, but it is especially catastrophic for the preservation of the game, since if at any time the servers closeit will be impossible to play this title anymore.
