2025 will be a key year for the DC Extended Universe. After several years in the doldrums, the studio owned by Warner Bros will be reborn in style with Superman: Legacythe new movie of the most famous superhero of all time and that will be directed and written by James Gunn.
However, large productions like this could experience delays due to the writers strike that has turned America upside down. The fight to get salary increases and more rights for their work has just begun and it seems that it will last longer than expected, causing the delay of films that have started (or will start) their pre-production these months.
However, it seems that James Gunn has been faster than anyone else and, according to what The Wrap has been able to tell exclusively, the American director delivered the draft of the first script for Superman: Legacy last week, that is, before the writers’ strike began. It’s been a month since the pre-production of the first superhero movie for the new DC began, and Gunn hasn’t stopped going over the script over and over again to finish this important element for the film as soon as possible.
We remind you that Superman: Legacy will hit theaters around the world next July 11, 2025. Unlike the other adaptations, this new film starring Clark Kent will not be an origins film and will tell the story of Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with humanity.
