To the machine hunter Aloy this time we will join in an atypical adventure in the cube world. With this in mind, it will be a shorter game that, like other LEGO titles, relies on humor. Guerrilla Games and Sony is targeting younger gamers who can look forward to a journey through the lush wilderness while saving the world.
It will be about a refreshed story from Horizon Zero Dawn. It will just be more attractive and suitable for children who will finish it in seven to eight hours. But it is not a parody or a faithful retelling of the story from 2017. Some more difficult events recede into the background. A plus is the return of actors and voice actors from Horizon Zero Dawn.
LEGO Horizon Adventures will have elements of replayability. The game is intended for one player, as well for two players in local and online co-op. Unfortunately, cross-play will not be supported.
The main character, Aloy, will use a bow (when shooting through the fire, the arrow will ignite) and use blocks for construction. It will be possible customize costumes and your hut, specifically its roof. You can install a roller coaster on it, while you improve the yard, the plot and change the color of the hut. It pays off on the way collect coins. These are needed to upgrade weapons and purchase additional equipment/upgrades.
LEGO Horizon Adventures is created in Unreal Engine 5 and will run at 60 frames per second on PC and PlayStation 5. On PS5, there will be a choice of Fidelity mode (30 frames) with better graphics and Performance (60 frames). The game will also be released on Nintendo Switch later this year.
The goal of the developers was to create a game that visually resembles a playable LEGO movie. It's interesting, that everything in the game is made of individual cubes. In theory, every element could thus be assembled from physical cubes in real life as well.
As for the combat, it will of course be simpler, but you will recognize some of the mechanics of the Horizon series, such as enemies' weak points through Focus and using weapons that drop from the machine. It won't be missing difficulty slider.
Foreign editors had the opportunity to play LEGO Horizon Adventures and they are enthusiastic. Some journalists even talk about that this is a new beginning for the Horizon series. Anyway, they praise the simple but fun gameplay, humor, interesting world, graphics, co-op and action.
