Video game adaptations continue to advance, but this time not in their live-action version. Arc System Works will bring one of its most successful franchises to anime format with a series that promises to be a festival of combat and special attacks: Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers.
Through their social media profiles, the Japanese video game developer has announced that they are developing an anime of their latest big hit in fighting games, although unfortunately its release date is completely unknown as of yet.
The studio in charge of producing the anime will be Sanzigen, known for having made the latest films of Initial D, plus some shorts for Arc System Works. This studio specializes in a mix of 3D and 2D animation, so it is likely that the adaptation will have a style similar to that seen in the video game's cinematics.
Guilty Gear Strive has become, without a doubt, the most successful video game in the entire saga, selling more than two and a half million copies and having a good player base on Game Pass. Therefore, it was foreseeable that the company would make the most of this installment with other projects beyond the fighting video game. To find out more details about the series, we will have to wait until July 4, when it will have its own panel at the Anime Expo in Los Angeles.
