Although we recently told you that lucasfilm had begun to engage in conversations about the next films in the franchise Star Warsit seems that the production company owned by Disney has taken drastic decisions regarding several films that were originally scheduled to continue feeding the Star Wars universe.
As Variety has been able to tell, Lucasfilm shelves two projects specifically that had been commented on over the last few years:
- A film directed by Kevin Feigepresident of Marvel Studios, which was even already written by the screenwriter of Doctor Strange 2 and which was a tape far from the entire central universe of Star Wars
- Another film directed by Patty Jenkinsdirector of Wonder Woman, called Rogue Squadron and that it was going to be focused on a group of star pilots who were going to hunt down the most evil beings in the universe
However, there is a project that Lucasfilm has stopped having in standby still: the Star Wars movie directed by Taika Waititi, the Hawaiian director in charge of bringing the last two Thor or Jojo Rabbit movies to the movies. Furthermore, he not only wants to direct it, but also to be the lead in it.
This last tape is still a mystery, as is the supposed trilogy than rian johnson he had prepared for several years and that not even he himself knows if they will finally take place. We will have to see what happens with the next Star Wars projects, but it seems that they will go slowly and with good lyrics to avoid an intergalactic overdose that will leave fans of the franchise even more disgusted than they are.
