After fans of the studio solved the mystery hidden in the Marathon trailer, Bungie revealed more information about the game. We tell you everything here!
Just a few hours from the premiere of the first preview of marathonthe new video game from the studio behind destiny, Bungie, fans discovered that in this short video there was a hidden QR. In this was the video that hours later the study uploaded to its channel Youtubewhere they explain in more detail what it is marathon.
This documentary video adds to everything that had already been revealed through the trailer, the game’s official page and the interview with the studio available on the official blog of PlayStation. In it we can see several of the developers involved talking about marathon and concept art that had yet to be revealed.
Now we know that it will be a shooter player vs. player extraction where squads of runners Cybernetics compete to recover mysterious artifacts, implants, and weapons in a hostile environment of Tau Ceti III. Players will be able to modify their runners both in the aesthetic part and in the gameplay. The good news is that it will have a narrative that will be divided into seasons, which will be driven by the actions of the players in game zones.
It should be noted that this game is actually based on a release of Bungie in 1994 for Mac
In the video we have Christopher Barrett, the director of the delivery, who exemplifies this last aspect. What he explains is that the first team that finds an alien key that opens the next zone will be the only one that can enter. They are commemorated for the feat in the game, and they have to figure out how to unlock that area for the other players. One of the goals of Bungie is being able to offer dedicated servers, disconnect recovery and tight security. They propose this to guarantee integrity and equity in marathon.
In the video they also reveal that the game is about to start its internal alpha testing on Bungie. But we don’t have to wait for much more news about marathonsince now that we know of its existence, the development team will not appear until we are closer to its release date, when the studio is ready to share the game with the world.
This documentary video was unlocked by fans of the studio after discovering that there was a code QR hidden in the trailer we saw in the PlayStation Showcase. Scanning it revealed a web page, sekiguchigenetics.jpwhich actually had an alternate reality game where you had to solve a puzzle and once you did it would redirect you to the video that Bungie uploaded a few hours later.
