Everyone knows Hideo Kojima’s Metal Gear Solid saga, but only fans of the politically-tinged stealth action franchise know that the story didn’t begin with 1998’s Metal Gear Solid. You have to go all the way back to 1987 to find out. how it all started and the good thing is that soon you will be able to do it.
And now we have known that the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection announced just a few days ago also includes MSX Metal Gear 1 and 2. This has been made known through the producer’s file on the PlayStation Store, where it has already appeared to be added to the wish list, although it still does not have a specific release date nor can it be reserved because its release price is unknown.
One compilation, five games
Although during the PlayStation Showcase it was announced that Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Volume 1 would include Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (whose remake is already in development), the game’s PlayStation Store page also confirms the presence of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snakethe two precursors to Kojima’s franchise before it made the leap into three dimensions.
These are their argumentsin case you don’t know them:
- Metal Gear: Big Boss, commanding officer of Fox-Hound, sends Gray-Fox, the man with the code name FOX, given to the best member of the unit, to Outer Heaven, an armed fortress nation led by a mercenary from who is said to have in his possession weapons of mass destruction.
- Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake: It’s the 90s but the Cold War is still on. Four years after the first Metal Gear, Solid Snake must infiltrate Zanzibar Land in order to destroy a new Metal Gear prototype. To do this, he must face whoever was his commander: Big Boss.
