Microsoft had its sights set in the mobile market with the purchase of Activision Blizzard, since it is a market that has not yet been fully explored and that can be greatly benefited, especially after the purchase of Activision Blizzard, which undoubtedly guarantees them a place in it.

Mobile gaming is the key strategic reason for the Activision Blizzard buyout, and the key reason for the merger is the presence of Xbox itself in the mobile sectorgetting fully into the duopoly that Apple and Google currently hold.

Microsoft makes a big move regarding the mobile market with the purchase of Activision Blizzard

Within the mobile market and with the purchase of Activision Blizzard, Microsoft would be under the control of such important games as Call of Duty: Mobile, Warzone Mobile and Diablo Immortal. This may be used by Microsoft to try gain a foothold in the mobile market and extend the idea of the Xbox Store by creating a new platform for the distribution of mobile games.
This platform would have the name of “Xbox Mobile Platform”and Activision Blizzard content could be used to engage players, in turn helping with their experience in the field, improve, discover and search for ease of use and mobile platforms.

With this measure, it is intended that a new mobile game distribution platform will end benefiting consumers and developerswhich will have additional distribution options outside of stores
existing.

The purchase of Activision Blizzard is focused on the mobile market according to Phil Spencer

This merger would allow Microsoft to challenge the existing duopoly between Google and Apple in the mobile market. By the way, the situation would be of great support to the developer community belonging to the mobile market with the purchase of Activision Blizzard. In fact, the European Federation of Game Developers has expressed its clear support to the merger. What do you think about it?
