Although the studio is working on other quite ambitious productions, it seems that MAPPA wants to continue adapting works without stopping. After an announcement in 2022 that almost everyone has forgotten about, we finally have news about one of the animes that will be the most talked about in the coming months.
Through its official account, we have learned that the remake of The Rose of Versailles is still in development and we have already been able to take a first look at the new film version of one of the most successful series in the anime industry during the 80s.
The film, so far, has only been confirmed for release in Japanese theaters, arriving in spring 2025. It's likely that part of the MAPPA team will begin working on this new adaptation once they finish the Chainsaw Man movie, while others will be in charge of the new seasons of Jujutsu Kaisen and Vinland Saga.
The Japanese studio doesn't want to let go of the accelerator and, although its quality is reflected in its anime, it is also true that this could lead to more problems related to the exploitation of workers and animators. Let's hope that this doesn't happen and that in the next few months this controversy will have been resolved, ensuring a healthy and efficient work environment.
