Overwatch 2 announces the first Pride Month and plans to revise the identities of the oldest characters in the cast. Blizzard has made public the date on which we will be able to enjoy this new event that will focus on the LGBTQ+ collective and will bring major changes to the identities of some of the main characters in the Activision Blizzard shooter.
Throughout this new Overwatch 2 event, we will be able to see changes to the Midtown map, where we will see the city shortly after a pride parade, with rainbow confetti and inclusive signs everywhere. Gibraltar will also receive changes, although in this case they will be very subtle changes that have to do directly with an iconic character from the franchise, Tracer, who will see how a photo of her is included with her longtime partner, Emily.

In addition to the changes described before, we will also see how they are introduced new permanent icons and badges so that those players who so wish can express themselves freely, having cards for agender, aromatic, asexual, bisexual, homosexual, fluid gender, intersex, lesbian, non-binary, pansexual and transsexual people. There’s also plenty of non-game content to keep adding, as Blizzard has shared a link to the Blizzard Pride Month Collection, with all proceeds going to the National Center for Transgender Equality.

Just we will have to wait until tomorrow June 1 to be able to enter this new event which promises character changes that will stay as part of Overwatch 2’s main story, as will the Baptiste-centric story called “As You Are”, in which we learn more about Baptiste and his concerns in a conversation with Pharah. So, everything is ready for the first Blizzard Pride Month, and they already warn that this is only the beginning.
