A fresh dose of open world fantasy RPG shooter from the creators of Dishonored and Prey.
The highlight of tonight’s Developer Direct has been none other than Redfall, the newest from Arkane Studios, creators of Dishinored and Prey. On this occasion, however, they bet everything on open world shooter RPG with a strong narrative charge, although it can also be enjoyed cooperatively thanks to its multiplayer system. A game where vampires will be the main protagonists, apart from the quartet of playable characters that players can choose. As expected, its release date is just a few months away.
As previously leaked, Redfall will be released on Xbox Series X|S and PC next may 2also available on Xbox Game Pass, like any game Microsoft first party. Let’s remember that Arkane Studios and the rest of the Bethesda teams have belonged to Microsoft for some time now.
As for the game itself, this new preview has served to learn more about how the game works. It is an open-world shotter RPG with a story and a great narrative charge that will try to unite the two great pillars of Arkane Studios’ games, the creation of a fantasy world and the playable possibilities offered by immersive sims. Still, it may be the most different and original Arkane game to what we’ve been used to in recent years, at least to the naked eye.
From what we have been able to see in this new advance, Redfall will not be lacking in content, since its open world will be loaded with content that can be enjoyed both alone or cooperatively, such as completing magical areas called “nests”, where the power of vampires is born. We’ve also had a chance to confirm that the game will feature a traditional RPG-like character progression system, with skill trees, and a loot system with weapons of all kinds sorted by rarity.
Redfall is finally coming to Xbox Series X|S and PC next May 2, 2023, in just a few months. Also on Xbox Game Pass, like Minecraft Legends, Forza Motorsport and the new game from Tango Gameworks.
