Hollywood has welcomed another video game franchise. After the success of the latest adaptations such as The Last of Us on HBO, Super Mario Bros. The Movie and Fallout on Amazon Prime Video, Universal will try its luck with a movie Just Cause.
Through The Hollywood Reporter, it has been learned that Square Enix and Avalanche Studios have reached an agreement with Universal Studios to bring to the big screen the crazy adventures of Rico Rodriguez, the famous specialist agent who, with just a hook and a wingsuit, will cause terror to the regime's soldiers.
Regarding direction, Universal has trusted Angel Manuel Soto, Mexican filmmaker known for his most recent work on Blue Beetle for DC Studios. The production will be carried out by Kelly McCormick and David Leitch, who have produced other hits in the action genre such as The Specialist and Nobody.
It is still unknown when production will begin, as is who the actor who will play Rico Rodriguez will be, so we will have to wait for future updates to learn more about this unexpected but interesting adaptation.
