This year, one of the most iconic shonen anime of this century will return in a big way: bleach. The last season is being a real earthquake and many are already looking forward to the new episodes, which in addition to continuing the manga's story, will include completely original content.
In an interview on the series' official website, composer Masaki Hiramatsu, director Hikaru Murata and producer Yoshihiko Tominaga revealed that the new chapters of the anime will contain original material never seen in the manga. They clarified that it will not be filler, but rather scenes approved by the actor himself. Tite Kubo to delve deeper into the universe of bleach.
“Under the supervision of Kubo-sensei, we will be drawing many original elements for the anime that are not in the original work. For the scenes that are in the original work, there is a correct answer, which is the original image, but for the original scenes, there is no clear correct answer. In order to express the feeling of Bleach within that, the staff is working hard but coming together to create the work.”
The series' team has made it clear throughout that these scenes will help understand concepts that may not have been entirely clear in the manga, such as the addition of the name of some spells. In short, they want to make the battles easier to understand and for the audience to fully understand what is happening on screen.
This is something that some blockbuster anime fail at. One of the most famous is Jujutsu Kaisen, which, although tremendously spectacular, sometimes does not make it clear what spells or techniques are being used, and only explosions and lights of various colors are seen on the screen. The last season of bleach plans to release the new episodes sometime in 2024.
