Bethesda has proven once again that it is capable of the best and the worst almost at the same time. The last Xbox Games Showcase 2024 surprised us with top-notch announcements: DOOM: The Dark AgesStarfield: Shattered Space and an update that same night, Fallout 76: Skyline Valley…
While general sentiment with the company is very positive, some Starfield players are light years away from being happy with Bethesda's recent decisions. It is a topic that we already talked about in VidaExtra: the Creation System and the price of some accessories.
We can't talk about review bombing, but recent negative Steam reviews have been noted: “Unfortunately, with the new updates we see that Bethesda will charge for the content that was missing in the game on the first day”, “Do you like the new mission of bounty hunter? Pay 10 euros for the second bounty hunter mission”, “Bethesda repeats its stupid method of charging for mods, 7 dollars for a single mission”, say some reviews.
Like I said, it sets a dangerous precedent, I mentioned it in another post, but what's stopping them then from selling you a DLC expansion, say like Shattered Space, and then saying “do you like that gun? 3 bucks and you can have it.” “That armor looks cool for 5 bucks,” “oh, that fancy new ship you can have for 10 bucks.”
I agree that the price of a new 700cc mission [Créditos de Crations] It's crazy. If this were a whole new questline with multiple objectives, all with unique dialogue, then great, but it's just one quest.
Talk to the NPC. He flies to the planet. Walk 500 m to the target location. Kill the target (and everyone else in the location). Get an immediate reward or return to the NPC for a reward. It has to be more than just a generic search to justify paying 700cc for it.
The mood on Reddit is not much better. The post “Trackers Alliance sets a dangerous precedent” by The_IrishTurtle has 2.8 thousand likes (up arrows) and the 770 comments focus on the price of the mission: “The DLC is fine. Charging $7 per mission is a stupidity”. Most condemn Bethesda's controversial Creation Club and remember stories from Skyrim. Some even encourage you to completely ignore this novelty.
In VidaExtra | I have returned to Starfield with its latest major update and I can only say one thing: this is how the game should have come into our lives
In VidaExtra | Every space adventure in Starfield deserves a love story in the style of Geralt, Yennefer and Triss from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
