EA itself confirmed the news to IGN, saying “Almost 12 years after its release, Star Wars: The Old Republic remains a success and continues to grow its dedicated and passionate community. We are very proud of the team’s work and the future of the game continues to look very bright..”
“We are evaluating how to give the game and the team the best opportunity to grow and evolve.,” the statement continued. “This includes conversations with Broadsword, a boutique studio that specializes in community-driven, online experiences. Our goal is to do what’s best for the game and its players..”
