This is The Monkey
In The Monkey, when twin brothers Hal and Bill discover their father's old monkey toy in the attic, a series of gruesome deaths begins around him. The brothers decide to get rid of the monkey and move on with their lives, distancing themselves over time. But when the mysterious deaths begin again, the brothers must reunite to find a way to destroy the monkey once and for all before it takes the lives of all your loved ones.
The director of the film has anticipated that The Monkey “will feel more like 'Misery', 'Creepshow', 'Gremlins' or 'An American Werewolf in London'. We tried to make a movie that felt a little more like something from the late '80s or early '90s.. “It's like Robert Zemeckis took some acid and made a Stephen King movie about a toy monkey.”
“Ideally, It is the movie that children and their parents will want to see together“Perkins continues to explain after speaking on the Boo Crew Podcast. “People explode, people explode, it's very extreme but very fun. “It's very father-son redemption, it's very moving, it's very nostalgic, it's very Stephen King.”
