The Flash will hit theaters around the world next week. Starring Ezra Miller, the movie of the scarlet runner it will be a farewell letter to a cinematic universe that could not fully take off due to its irregularity. In turn, it will also be a welcome party to another much more ambitious universe commanded by James Gunn.
Many of the characters we will see in this film will be history once the film ends, but there may also be several of them who hope to be mainstays in Gods and Monsters. One of them is Supergirla superheroine who will have her own movie in the new DCEU.
However, the future of the actress who plays Kara Zor El, Sasha Calle, is still unknown. Even so, the American interpreter has commented in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that she hopes to be the woman who embodies the superheroine in this new universe that is about to begin.
“I look forward to continuing to play Supergirl. I love her dearly. And I think [The Flash] it’s really a runway to a bigger story for her. We didn’t really get to experience much. Tom King’s Supergirl: Tomorrow Woman is an amazing comic. I love it. I think she’s great. So yeah, I look forward to continuing. I look forward to continuing to play her, for sure.”
As we have mentioned before, James Gunn and Peter Safran revealed their plans to adapt Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. During the announcement, Gunn commented that the film would be a great science fiction epic, focusing especially on the tone of the story.
He emphasized the differences between superman and supergirl, mentioning that while the Man of Steel was sent to Earth and raised by the Kents, Kara grew up in a very hostile place on Krypton where she witnessed the death of everyone she loved. We will have the opportunity to see for the first time Supergirl on the big screen in Flashwhich will be released on June 16, 2023.
