While James Gunn is setting up a gigantic project for the DC Extended Universe to be reborn in style, the elseworlds of the company follow their path separately, although with the same hype than the movies and series of the American filmmaker.
In addition to Joker: Foile à Deuxwhich has already begun filming with Joaquin Phoenix doing crazy for Gotham, another of the films that has announced an important advance in its production: Batman 2. The sequel to Robert Pattinson’s Batman already has a start date for its filmingand it’s closer than you think.
As the producer of the film Michael Uslan has been able to communicate through his Instagram account, filming for The Batman 2 will begin in November 2023, that is, within about 9 months. This announcement is quite surprising, since the premiere of this sequel is set for the end of 2025 and its filming will begin two years before.
However, this is quite good news, since having such a leisurely and long filming indicates a increased production which aims to be bigger than the first film, knowing that the special effects of this film are not the protagonist if we compare it with other blockbusters such as Ant-Man and the Quantumania Wasp of the UCM.
We remind you that The Batman 2 has its release date set for the October 3, 2025. This same year Gunn plans to release his first big movie in the DCU, Superman: Legacy, in addition to other projects such as Waller or The Authority.
