One of HBO's most anticipated series has recently released its official trailer
For some years now, superhero movies have become more and more common, to the point where Currently we are hit by an avalanche of productions of this genresaturating the market and giving rise to “superhero fatigue.” However, it's easy to point the finger at big companies for this, without even considering what's behind it: the craziness behind the scenes.
Although, thanks to the new HBO series that will premiere this Sunday, The franchisewe can discover what happens and how they are done, all from a quite comical perspective.
What is The Franchise about?
The story of the most recent HBO production follows Daniel Brühl, who finds himself in the shoes of a director of a blockbuster movie who needs to deal with all the everyday problems that arise on setwhile, of course, trying not to go crazy in the process.
And to satisfy the fans' desires, Max presented the official trailer a couple of days ago, and in it we look at something that we almost never stop to think about: the perspective of the professionals behind the project, especially that of the production assistants.
As we already mentioned, The franchise It will be a mix between work comedies and superhero movies. Although, in this case, all the glamor and impressive effects will disappear, since we will see actors working in front of countless green screenssome who despise their own jobs and others who think they are at the peak of their careers, as well as the producers who intervene in each of the details of the film with a higher frequency than they should and, director Eric Bouchard (Brühl), facing a series of problems that he will have to solve.
Thanks to the new trailer of The franchise, we can see how the production assistants must deal with the demands and tantrums of the actorsbad news from the people above them and all the other activities that often put them in the line of fire, well, they must endure an inhuman amount of abuse.
If you liked it The Officethen you should not miss the new HBO seriessince after watching the trailer, it will probably remind you of the legendary 2005 series.
Meet the production team behind The Franchise
Superhero franchises provide a lot of cloth to cut, from the most “real” ones like Marvel and DC, to those that go more down the satirical path like The Boys and Doom PatrolBe that as it may, the truth is that with so many options to cover, the new HBO series could easily get lost when trying to portray the right angle.
But we have serious doubts that this can happen, since the series has been created by Sam Mendes, Armando Iannucci and Jon Brown. Mendes has enormous experience directing mega blockbusters, such as Skyfall (2012). Iannucci is a great adept at comedy, having created Veep (2012) and written The Death of Stalin (2017)nominated for the BAFTA. While Brown is a three-time Emmy winner who has written a few episodes of Succession (2018) and Dead Pixels (2019).
However, this does not end there. In addition to the aforementioned Daniel Brühl, the cast of The Franchise also includes Himesh Patel, Aya Cash – who ironically plays one of the most powerful characters in The Boys–, Billy Magnussen, Jessica Hynes, Lolly Adefope, Isaac Powell, Ruaridh Mollica, Darren Goldstein and Richard E. Grant.
Thanks to this cast we can be more confident that the series could be a great success. Be that as it may, we are just a few days away from its premiere this Sunday, October 6. You can watch the show through Max and episodes will be released weekly.
