Google announced that the new update to Chrome for Android adds the ability to open incognito tabs with our fingerprint. All the info here!
Most cell phones come with a fingerprint sensor that allows us to unlock the device in a more secure way, since only people who have their fingerprint registered will be able to access our cell phone. Y Google finally decided to take advantage of this feature with their new update to Chrome on devices Android.
The onboarding allows us to access incognito tabs through our footprint. The feature was already available on iOS from 2021and with a sign of “Unlock Incognito” it tells us that we have to put our finger on the sensor to reopen the browser. We can also “See other tabs” in the incognito section as well as an additional menu to close all private browsing tabs or open settings.
Of course, this function is optional and you can activate it by going to the Chrome Settings > Privacy and Security > Block Incognito tabs when I quit Chrome. The description explains that we will use the screen lock to be able to see the open incognito tabs. Enabling or disabling requires verification, and we can also use our PIN. The home screen appears immediately after exiting Chrome.
The update is already available on some cell phones and Google announced it to celebrate the International Day for the Protection of Personal Data. By last, Chrome is expanding safety checkhis proposal for users to learn to take care of their personal information, with “More personalized recommendations and reminders about what you’ve previously shared with websites, and find those controls in one place to revoke permissions and protect your privacy”. Some of the options already available include checking for compromised passwords and harmful extensions. The update of Chrome will be available globally later this month.
