“We're introducing a new personalized space in the PS5 main menu called the Welcome Hub,” informs Sony. Players will be able to fill the main menu with a variety of widgets with its own background. There will be a variety of designs to choose from, including some with interesting animated effects. If you don't like one, you choose a picture from your own gallery.
As for widgets, you can add your accessory's battery life indicator, online friends, trophies, disk space and other widgets to the main screen. You can also change the size of them to have everything to your liking.
Another novelty is Party Share. It will make it easier to invite friends to the group by generating links and QR codes. Initially, invitations will only be sent from the console. In time, also through a mobile application.
These updates are available for US players on PS5 starting today. The update is 1.293 GB. It will be available for others in the next few weeks.
